#5 Beaver Creek

The Slopes: Beaver Creek Resorts has 3 lodges at the base of it's 25 lifts and 150 trails spread across its 1,800 acres of skiable terrain that averages around 310 inches of snow a year and offers plenty of variety for all levels of ability. With base elevation of 7,400 feet and a summit of 11,400 feet, Beaver Creek makes for a perfect resort for those flying in from low elevation states to help avoid altitude sickness.

Culture: Beaver Creek's strong hold is in its customer service and experience. From fresh baked-home made free cookies everyday at 3, escalator and attendants dropping you off right at the chair lifts, heated side walks to prevent ice build up and the best ski school in the state, you couldn't ask for a better family environment. Beaver Creek also is home the the Birds of Prey World Cup Downhill.

The Town: The town of Beaver Creek is nestled in right at the base of the slopes with an outdoor skating rink in the center, a performing arts center and plenty of shopping and dining surrounding it. Just a little further down the hill is the town of Avon, with free bus shuttles up to the lifts, Avon makes for  good base camp as well.

Travel: Beaver Creek Resorts is 120 miles west of Denver off of 1-70 making it fairly easy to access whether you are flying or driving in.
